Hi, I'm Mellissa — the woman behind the stones at The Aurora Jewelry Co. What started as a deep love for the natural world has grown into a small business built on intention, beauty, and the belief that the right piece of jewelry can tell your story without saying a word.

How It All Began

My journey into jewelry making began with a friendship bracelet. My brother's girlfriend taught me how to craft bracelets when I was just eleven years old and I was instantly hooked. I was drawn to the way I could weave simple embroidery floss into fun patterns, adding beads and gems along the way and creating something seemingly out of nothing. That sudden spark to crafting has followed me ever since.

When everything seemed wrong, jewelry could make it right. It's my zen, my happy place, a quiet refuge when the world feels like too much.

A Passion for Natural Stone & Pearls

I'm a country girl at heart and the Great Outdoors was my playground. The forest was a mystical kind of jungle gym — running by rivers, climbing trees — and multicolored creek rock, sticks, and leaves seemed to carry their own energy, carrying my imagination off to different worlds where magic and spells was the name of the game. What started as a personal obsession quickly became a calling.

Natural stones are at the soul of everything I create. From the calming blues of howlite to the grounding warmth of jasper, every stone is hand-selected for its beauty and energy. Pearls hold a special place in my heart too — timeless, luminous, and deeply feminine, they bring an effortless elegance to any piece.
